Archana Mohan is a professional, freelance bridal make-up artist based in Kochi, Kerala, India. Make-up is THE biggest passion in her life, and she calls herself lucky enough to do what she loves most for a living. She ventured into the world of make-up as a professional over ten years ago, and has worked with 500+ brides during these years. Her long list of extremely satisfied brides speaks volumes about the quality of her work
A B.Tech Graduate from one of the top engineering colleges in Kerala, Archana’s passion for make-up started as a teenager. Even as she began her career has an Engineer with a leading Multinational Company in Technopark, Trivandrum, after completing her B.Tech, Archana yearned to follow her true calling… to become a make-up artist.
The dream became true – when she finally decided to say good bye to her day job to devote all her time to follow her dreams. She spent several months during the next few months pursuing a melange of courses – both online and offline, on the different aspects of make-up. She went on to acquire international certifications in Air Brush make-up, and hairstyling, in the mean time. All her efforts paid off, and today she is one among the most sought-after make-up artists in Kochi, and in Kerala! While she is not making brides beautiful, she enjoys spending time with her husband – Hari, and their cat-babies – Ikru, Boo, and Auro.

“I am a dark/wheatish skinned person. If you live in India, you would know how dark skinned people (especially women) are considered as bad omen. I grew up hearing people mocking me about the colour of my skin. I have heard from people around me about how nobody would marry me because I’m dark skinned. More than a decade later, the scars of these wounds still hurt – at times. And, that’s one of the reasons why I decided to choose this profession. For me, make-up is not a method to ‘white-wash’ a dark person! It is a method to bring out the inner beauty of a person. My life experiences made me understand the truth that every person is beautiful. And that is what I do – when I dress you up on your big day. I know for a fact that – you are beautiful.
