About Us

ARCHANA MOHAN - PROFESSIONAL, FREELANCE BRIDAL MAKE-UP ARTIST IN KOCHI

Archana Mohan is a professional,  freelance bridal make-up artist based in Kochi, Kerala, India. Make-up is THE biggest passion in her life, and she calls herself lucky enough to do what she loves most for a living. She ventured into the world of make-up as a professional in 2016, and has worked with 100+ brides during the past three years. Her long list of extremely satisfied brides speaks volumes about the quality of her work.

 

A B.Tech Graduate from one of the top engineering colleges in Kerala, Archana’s passion for make-up started as a teenager. Even as she began her career has an Engineer with a leading Multinational Company in Technopark, Trivandrum, after completing her B.Tech, Archana yearned to follow her true calling… to become a make-up artist.

 

The dream became true – when she finally decided to say good bye to her day job to devote all her time to follow her dreams. She spent several months during the next few months pursuing a melange of courses – both online and offline, on the different aspects of make-up. She went on to acquire international certifications in Air Brush make-up, and hairstyling, in the mean time. All her efforts paid off, and today she is one among the most sought-after make-up artists in Kochi, and in Kerala! While she is not making brides beautiful, she enjoys spending time with her husband – Hari, and their cat-babies – Ikru, and Boo.

Despite having received quite a few job offers from big names in media, and in the film industry, Archana prefers to be a Bridal Make-up Artist. She loves dressing up brides, and making them look their best for the most special day of their lives. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to dress up brides for several occasions including marriages, engagement parties, sangeets, photoshoots and more.

 

Archana’s motto is to provide make-up of the best quality, for everyone. She goes into great lengths to ensure that the products she uses are the best. The brands she uses for her client include MAC, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Morphe, Urban Decay, Huda Beauty, Kiko Milano, NYX Professional Cosmetics, ColourPop cosmetics, Temptu Pro Airbrush, and more. She travels to the United States and  Europe every year to purchase and restock these products, so as to ensure the quality of these products.

 

Natural Make-up is one of Archana’s specialities. Archana also offers the unique offering of custom make-up packages – wherein she works with brides to bring out the look of their dreams on the most special days of their lives. She considers herself lucky, and humbled, to have received applauds from all of her brides that she has worked with!

My experience with Archana was nothing less than perfect. Given that it was my first trip to Kochi and that I have sensitive blemish prone skin, I was very selective and did extensive research on who could help me with my make up and hair for a photoshoot that I was going to have. “I am a dark/wheatish skinned person. If you live in India, you would know how dark skinned people (especially women) are considered as bad omen. I grew up hearing people mocking me about the colour of my skin. I have heard from people around me about how nobody would marry me because I’m dark skinned. More than a decade later, the scars of these wounds still hurt – at times. And, that’s one of the reasons why I decided to choose this profession. For me, make-up is not a method to ‘white-wash’ a dark person! It is a method to bring out the inner beauty of a person. My life experiences made me understand the truth that every person is beautiful. And that is what I do – when I dress you up on your big day. I know for a fact that – you are beautiful.
